To be fair ALL of my kids wander off and only one has a good sense of direction. That would be my oldest. It has a lot to do with his observation skills. He actually pays attention to where he is going. The other two just start going until they are lost. Well the other evening I had D take the kids out to the park so I could get dinner done and a few other things in peace and quiet. Around 8:30p I get a call from D.
"Is M there?"
Me: No,
D:Are they boys there?
Me: Yep
D:But the boys did not bring her back?
Me: No
D: She was right here 1o seconds ago!
Well we did find her, eventually, it took about a half hour though. While we weren' worried anything bad had happened, we were more concerned with where is exactly she was at. We live in a safe area. And in fact D found her with two very nice people and one of the teams of security that regularly cruise the city. Different then local police. They even gave M candy. Oh boy!
Here are the family reactions;
D: How did she get so far, so fast?
Me: Now you know how I feel! The kids are always taking off on me..........
S: How come she wandered off? (I asked him why he wandered off and typical aswer of course, "I don't know........"
Y: M went to school! Because S is always coming home from school with cady. So his logical conclusion is that if she has candy she was at school!
M: Well she was a little upset, but after some suggles and dinner she went right to sleep.
All's well that ends well. Thank G-d.
